New 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Image, Engine, Reviews   –   Even though it has been a best-seller from the start, the 2025 Toyota Corolla’s engine has been upgraded. Every gas-powered vehicle now comes standard with the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that was once only available on higher trim levels, replacing the older 1.8-liter engine. New aesthetic touches, an upgraded infotainment system with subscription services, and better driver-assist safety features are all part of the 2019 Toyota Corolla facelift.

There is no room for discussion when it comes to the delivery fee of $1,760 added to the $24,450 basic price of the 2025 Toyota Corolla L. Before taxes, the shown LE costs $27,500 (with a basic price of $25,450 and an upgrade package of $2,050). The next most costly model is the XSE, which retails for $32,150, followed by the SE, which retails for $27,050. At the same time, the Corolla is now available in a hybrid variant, and buyers may choose between that and an all-wheel drive option.  New 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Image

Above and above the standard safety equipment, the base L model adds manual air conditioning, 15-inch steel wheels, and an 8-inch multimedia touchscreen. Satellite radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (now wireless), an emergency help button, and a stolen car finder are all part of the trial version of linked services that are available on this touchscreen. For an extra $250, you can have the LE Upgrade package, which adds a power sunroof, heated steering wheel, push-button start, alloy wheels with locking nuts, and a wireless charger. New 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Image

The Corolla’s controls are surprisingly simple; they include a temperature system with knobs and buttons, a stereo volume dial, and easily comprehensible icons on the central screen. The controls on the steering wheel, including the button-within-a-wheel on each side, are equally easy to grasp and use. It all started with the iPod, the hottest device of its day, and this design has been around for quite a while. It is possible to conduct shoulder inspections due to the excellent visibility and the availability of unobstructed lines of sight. My one and only request is that the back doors be somewhat widened to make getting in and out of the car even easier.  New 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback ImageNew 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Image

Engine and Performance

A 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with 139 hp and 126 lb-ft of torque would have been standard on this LE test vehicle before this year. It now comes standard with the same 2.0-liter inline-four that powers the SE and XSE models; this engine produces 169 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. It is really appreciated that this modification would enhance the acceleration and overtaking power of this small car on the highway. Even though it’s not a sports car and the engine can get very noisy, it’s still fine for everyday use.New 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Specs

The engine propels the front wheels forward via an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT). The first gear engages with the direct-shift model when you first start it up, and then the fuel-efficientgearless CVT pulley system takes over. As the car accelerates from a stop, this makes it seem more conventional and snappier than it otherwise would.  New 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Image

New 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback  Fuel Economy

Fuel economy ratings for the new 2.0L engine in the Corolla LE range from 7.4 L/100 km in city driving to 5.7 L/100 km on highway travel and 6.7 L/100 km in mixed-gear driving. It needs fuel with an octane rating of 87, and I got 7.1 gallons per hundred kilometers driving it for a week.  New 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Image

All of its rivals have 2.0-liter engines; the Hyundai Elantra, Honda Civic, and Mazda3 all have combined fuel economy ratings of 6.7 liters per hundred kilometers, 6.9 liters per hundred kilometers, and 7.6 liters per hundred kilometers, respectively.

New 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback  Safety Features

In terms of collision safety, the Corolla has received five stars from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the top attainable grade. The revised side and moderate front overlap tests now more realistically simulate being struck by a huge SUV, however it only obtained a “Acceptable” rating instead of the highest possible “Good” rating. As a result, it did not achieve the top higher Top Safety Pick+ designation.  New 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Image

Several driver-assistance safety systems have been enhanced for all trim levels. Emergency front braking with pedestrian identification is one of these technologies. Others include adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing help, automatic high-beam lighting, road sign recognition, and lane departure warning with steering aid. Ten airbags, a backup camera, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic warning are standard on the LE, which is the second-from-base trim. A rearview camera is also mandatory on all newly sold automobiles in Canada.

New 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback  Price and Release Date

Its gasoline-only Corolla models range in price from $24,450 to $32,150, putting it in the center of its rivals’ pricing points. Prices for the Hyundai Elantra start at $22,224 and go up to $31,674 (not including destination charges), while those for the Mazda3 start at $24,260 (not as high as the Corolla) and go up to $34,460 (not including destination charges), and those for the Honda Civic range from $28,115 to $35,180 (not including destination charges).  New 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Image

Due to its reasonable price and extensive list of features, the Corolla LE with the optional Upgrade pack may be the best option for many buyers. The Corolla LE can be yours for $27,500. The SE Upgrade option is required if you want the sunroof, heated steering wheel, wireless charging, and 18-inch alloys that came with my tester. The SE is the next tier up, and it comes with a slicker suspension, better headlights, fog lights, and plusher upholstery. You will also receive the SE Upgrade with this bundle. Upon completion, you will have gained $2,300 in comparison to my tester.
