The Corolla iM has one of the most squished cabins of all the small hatchbacks. Furthermore, the cabin materials are of inferior quality, and the dashboard design is odd. There is little difference between the Corolla iM and the Corolla sedan in terms of interior design, save for a handful of minor details. Both cars share poor materials, an awkward dashboard layout with projecting edges, and a primitive automated temperature control system with two zones. Furthermore, the Corolla iM is distinguished by a unique white vinyl strip that runs down the bottom edge of the dashboard. Though the chairs are strong and comfortable, they do not have power adjustment. This differs from the standard Corolla, which offers heated front seats as an extra accessory. Fortunately, the Corolla iM’s styling doesn’t skimp on storage and cargo capacity. This hatchback may not measure up to its rivals in most areas, but it makes up for it with plenty of room for skateboard gear and energy drink cases. We like the roomy and deep glovebox and the hidden storage space behind the center stack, perfect for stowing a smartphone.

The system is different from the Entune touchscreen—which is 6.1 inches—that is provided as standard on the typical Corolla car. Please retain the handbooks. The Corolla iM’s six-speed shift-it-yourself gearbox is our favorite feature because it comes standard on all models. Put your excitement on hold for the moment; the iM’s four-cylinder engine is so weak that it will drain your energy savings. Alternatively, you may have the iM with a CVT, which stands for continuously variable automatic transmission. Even though we’re not huge fans of CVTs, we have to admit that Toyota’s is far more fuel-efficient than its rivals. The hot-hatch style of the Corolla iM makes it look like a sporty and quick car. Although it is not hesitant to participate in exuberant driving on two-lane roads, the enjoyment is immediately ruined since the engine has to be worked to get even a reasonable level of acceleration. Though they share most of the same chassis components, the standard Corolla sedan and the Corolla iM are distinguished by the iM’s independent rear suspension and the sedan’s less advanced setup. The result is an iM with better handling and a more accommodating ride. Not only does the iM have quite accurate steering, but its shocks are powerful enough to dampen body vibrations without sacrificing comfort. The interior is alerted to harsh bumps and uneven surfaces by rattles and shakes, even if the ride is rather pleasant.
